Workshops, Trainings and Retreats
Workshops, Trainings and Retreats
Every semester, the DSE offers various workshops, trainings and retreats on different academic topics. These are geared towards the needs and wishes of the fellows and are designed to support them in a successful dissertation phase.
Activities of interest groups
Activities of interest groups
The focus here is on our fellows' own initiative: depending on requirements, various interest groups can be organized, which can focus on intellectual topics as well as joint ventures such as crafts, sports, etc. The DSE provides organizational and financial support here.
Social Events of the DSE
Social Events of the DSE
Every semester, we invite you to various events aimed at experiencing and deepening the DSE community. Depending on the focus, all Fellows, PostDocs, Supervisors and Alumni are welcome to attend. We organize an annual general meeting, an end-of-year party and many other thematic get-togethers.
Networking Events
Networking Events
As it is essential for a successful career to be well connected, the DSE offers the opportunity to find and build networks through various networking events. These range from fellows from other disciplines and postdocs to international acquaintances at professor level.
Conferences and Research Stays
Conferences and Research Stays
The DSE supports active conference participation and research stays of its fellows, as well as the organization and realization of self-developed projects.
International Wednesdays
International Wednesdays
On several Wednesday evenings during the semester, international guests are invited to Vienna for a lecture and discussion followed by a reception. This broadens the intellectual and social spectrum of the Fellows and promotes international exchange.
Your Research @ Dies Facultatis
Your Research @ Dies Facultatis
Once a year, the faculty invites you to the Dies Facultatis in the main university building. Fellows of the DSE and the VDSP can present their PhD projects on posters in the portico of the Arkadenhof and introduce them to interested guests. On the one hand, this enables them to make their own research more visible and, on the other, trains their presentation and communication skills with regard to their own dissertation project.
